Spend just a few minutes on LinkedIn and it’s hard not to come across a torrent of news about exciting innovations in marketing research. Big data, neuromarketing, mobile research, online communities, social media, web analytics, and gamification – just to name a few. Some of these developments promise to radically change the way we understand the relationship between brands and consumers. Even better, they’re not all simply a bunch of early-stage ideas. Several are supported by empirical results and peer-reviewed academic papers.
