We recently announced the hiring of Invoke’s new Principal Software Architect, Daniel Quaroni.
At Invoke we believe in working hard and playing hard; so we wanted to find out what Q. does for play-
-Where is the farthest place you have traveled?
“I guess Maui would be the farthest from home I’ve traveled.”
-What’s your favorite movie?
” It’s tough to pick just one, but I guess if I had to I’d go with Aliens.”
-What are your dogs names?
“Kaya, Hari, and Nima. They’re Tibetan Spaniels and their names are (according to some online Tibetan-English dictionary) Tibetan words. Kaya means “partner”, Hari means “parrot” and also “pattern”, and Nima means “the sun”.”
-How do you like to spend a Sat.?
“Making my car’s tires scream and killing cones on an autocross course.”
” I like a lot of different foods, but the one thing that I can count on to satisfy me and be delicious any day is a nice juicy hamburger.”
“Well, that depends. Technically four, but three of them are allocated to me.”
– Did you study a foreign language?
” Yes, several. I’m terrible at them but I managed 4 years of German, 1 year of Japanese, and 2 years of Italian.”
-Which do you like the least… spiders or snakes?
“Eight legged demons.”
“Nothing as short and sweet as a motto, no. But I do try to live by a code. You know, like Dexter.”
-What do you think the world will look like in 2034?
“We’re going to be way more data dependent and connected than we are now. Wearable computers will be standard and half the time someone’s looking at you they’ll actually be viewing a HUD with some video or game running. Attention spans will shrink even further as people constantly amuse themselves. Half the time people won’t even bother finishing their…”
-What will be the biggest invention that we will be dependent on then?
“The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. That counts as an invention, right?”
Thanks Q. It was a pleasure to get to know more about you! We’re happy you’re part of the Invoke Team-
